About StudioMORE ABOUT STUDIO
A blurred reality where whimsy and imagination orchestrate a dreamlike symphony. Objects and the environment come alive in my quirky and sensorial universe.
Allison Crank (M.Des) is a designer and filmmaker interested in exploring how design participates in the establishment and recognition of embodied knowledge and creates forms for live, visceral and direct experiences in a media saturated world.
She received a Bachelors degree from Wellesley College (magna cum laude) in 2011 and her Masters degree (cum laude) in Contextual Design from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2015. Currently, she is working as a research assistant at the EPFL+ECAL lab in Switzerland.
Allison works at the intersection of technology, media and architecture. Her work ranges from illustrations, animations, virtual reality and spatial design. Concept development, research and future-oriented thinking are key elements in her design process.

“No, no! The adventures first, explanations take such a dreadful time.”
I believe a story can be brought to life with the right combination of text, images and animation. Every story deserves a unique approach and is best told through various media in order to engage people.
Stories can be told with images, animations and experiences, but designing tools for play allows for new stories to emerge.
Digital design is like painting, except the paint never dries.
Unlike static forms of design, digital portfolios and elements can constantly evolve, develop and grow. We believe that web design is never a finished product, it should constantly evolve to reflect fluxes in the public’s desires. Every website is a portal to a virtual world; lets make that portal into an adventure.
We create websites for design companies, research compilers, medical suppliers as well as small businesses and private portfolios. Our work ranges from web design, interface design, product photography, experience design and film/animation.
Well, luckily with animation, fantasy is your friend.
Animation as a way to tell stories and connect with one’s audience.
Whether for short films, multi-media installations or presentations, we make animations to engage with others.
Designing experiences that allows you to visit virtual worlds in the form of a play: a narrative that gives life to this fiction and allows you to explore the world. We use virtual reality as an interactive tool to transport you to these new worlds and leave it up to the viewer to immerse themselves in the virtual stage and performance.
We use virtual reality as a way to create an interactive storytelling experience.
New ideas pass through three periods: 1) It can’t be done. 2) It probably can be done, but it’s not worth doing. 3) I knew it was a good idea all along!
Our experience in research and many different fields has helped us stay curious, open and flexible. These qualities are at the core of our philosophy in the conception of our ideas.
We work to design the best interactions for each situation to guide the user in their digital journey. This is essential in creating engaging and effective experiences.
