Nina, an installation by the EPFL + ECAL Lab in collaboration with ALICE, brings the iconic concerts of the Montreux Jazz Festival back to life in a travelling installation. The installation is the result of a larger research project on designing experiences for digital heritage.
As a UX designer and researcher on this installation, I worked on the interaction design as well as co-authoring a paper on the global research project which was published in the Leonardo-MIT Journal.

Nina was a part of a two-year research project on designing new experiences for digital heritage. We tested several interaction concepts in the first prototype to encourage personal connections with the archives and social sharing. Users could record their own stories about their relationship to the song they just saw via a camera setup inside a car. The recorded messages are then shown to future users who select the same concert song. We also tested this concept in written form.
