A mobile game that allows you and your pet to play at home or while you're apart. This personal project was inspired by my dog, Pixel who would wait by the door until I came home from work. Pixel 2.0 allowed me to play with her when I was away.

Using a Sphero robotic ball, a camera and your smartphone, playing fetch gets a serious update. A game where your dog tries to get treats from the ball while owners try to win the game by controlling the balls' movement in both the virtual and real environment.

Your player is Pixel the Pomeranian. Using a joystick in the app, you can move Pixel to try to avoid the dreaded vacuum cleaners or become distracted by squirrels. The longer you last, the harder it gets. Your movements of Pixel in the game are the real movements the ball makes in its physical surroundings.

Sphero can be awoken when triggered by your pet, so play can still happen even if you are away. Pixel 2.0 will notify you if your pet may want to play!

Computer Vision
A camera setup allows you to see your pet at home, so you can switch back from game to user view. You can make the game more difficult by using your pet as the player in the game. With computer vision, Pixel 2.0 uses your pet's real x and z movements to control the virtual character in the game view. Try to lure your real pet away from the virtual vacuums!
